Virtual Computers was founded in 1995. Starting out as an Internet Cafe – back when the Internet was something that only a handful of people had heard of! After 6 months of operation, the owners got tired of being asked “How do I get this at home?”, and so they established an Internet Service Provider to cater to this need. Web site hosting was added to the services offered in 1996, and early in 1998 the cafe was closed down as the ISP services accounted for most of the business turnover. Over time more services were added, still focused on Internet Service Provision.
In 2009, new services were introduced centering on computer sales and support, and IT services provided on-site, and later remotely. Today, this has become the major focus of the business alongside web site hosting.
Virtual Computers is still owned by one of its original directors, Alan Williamson.
