The Yarra Glen Art Show has returned to the Yarra Valley this Easter once again at our wonderful venue: Balgownie Estate. The display space was enlarged, so we could display 450 works of art. On our sixth year, the event continued to attract new artists from the Yarra Valley and beyond. We will once again to make a substantial contribution with our commissions from the sale of artworks to the Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children's Hospital.
More than fifty volunteers worked very hard to set up the show supervise the event. Local merchants provided financial support as did many keen patrons of the arts from around our valley.
This year the committee awarded three prizes to works that best capture some aspect of the landscape, flora, fauna, or people of in the Yarra Valley. The judges were printmaker and painter Janice Mc Bride as well as painter and sculptor Richard Granville-Smith.
