With the continuing drought this fire season is again shaping up to be a bad one. Brigades have been busy preparing themselves with training . Let's hope that it does not need to be put into practice!

Welcome to the Alexandra Fire Brigades Group Web Page.

We are producing this Web page as an aid to communication for the Group. We hope to provide local Fire Fighters with information about what's going on around our area - training sessions and exercises, upcoming meetings, a calendar of events plus weather and operations reports during the fire season. Brigade members input is encouraged .We would like to make this a web page for all Brigades in the Alexandra Group, so don't hesitate to contact one of the Group Officers, or Comms. Officers if you would like to contribute.

The Alexandra Group consists of twelve brigades, Acheron, Alexandra Urban, Alexandra Rural, Buxton, Eildon, Koriella, Marysville, Narbethong, Taggerty,Thornton, Whanregarwen and Yarck.

The primary activities of the Alexandra Group are provide command and control of emergency situations such as fires, chemical spills, and motor vehicle accidents. The Group is also responsible for making sure all firefighters are adequately trained to ensure their safety. Another important function is Community Education to ensure that the general public are able to make informed choices when facing an emergency situation.
